I see some walking around when I drive by USC. Also, some of my coworkers are Indian, and I know one of them lives in Westwood.

I know the H1-B's are huge in the Silicon Valley but I'm not sure how prevelent they are in LA. I've heard estimates that at least half of Indians in the Silicon Valley are on H1-B's.

What is interesting about the LA area Indian community is that they tend to settle in working class communities such as Artesia and Canoga Park while they have the highest income of any immigrant group after Iranians.

Observations: Tamil and Telugu, and Hindi to a degree are centered in the Silicon Valley, Punjabi speakers more in cheaper inland areas, especially Central Valley, and Guajarati (huge Indian group on the East Coast) unique in that it's speakers are concentrated in Socal, LA and OC, more than the Silicon Valley.

Irvine, due to the presence of a large number of technology companies, has a large number of Indians and becoming a major hub for the community in Southern California.

Besides Irvine it seems the Indian community in LA County is growing but with no real concentration, very small pockets in Torrance, in Culver City, San Gabriel, and even in the San Fernando Valley around Warner Center.
