Is there a large Indian community in LA? If so how does it compare to SF, NY or NJ (where it is HUGE)? How are Indians viewed in LA - for the most part they are liked in NorCal and NY.

the largest Indian community is in the Artesia area, with a decent size community also in the warner center/canoga park neighborhoods of the san fernando valley.

I assumed feather myself. I am near Artesia but I am of the feather type. We do have some local tribes here. Easier to find the casino for them. Hint follow the money! lol
For the dot Indians Artesia and La Palma

I have to agree. We all call each other family. My family have never thought of their selves as "Indians".

Definitely not as big of an Indian population here in LA, when you look at things relatively. In LA, there are many more Persians, Armenians, Koreans, Latinos (as a whole of course), Chinese, probably Japanese too. So, there may be a decent amount of Indians, but as a relative percentage of the total minority mix, Indians are definitely a lower share than the SF & NY/NJ area.

As an Indian guy myself, who was born and raised here (in the South Bay), I really see a lack of American-born Indian people around. Four of my coworkers are Indian, but all H1-B's (ie foreign born), same with the Indians that I come across in my apartment complex. Nothing wrong with foreigners, just my observation.

I'm a British-born Indian in LA - there's even less of us here!
