How far east of Westchester/LAX into Inglewood before the the neighborhood gets dodgy? I'm starting a job in Culver City and need to find an apartment around 1000 or less per month. I don't need size or amenities in an apartment... Lets just say my main concern is keeping my car windows intact most of the year.

is crime higher east of sepulveda, say between sepulveda and la tijera? i thought east was relatively quiet as well. OP was concerned about crime. I think anywhere west of 405 and you don't have to worry about window damage, but what do I know??? :-)

The little part of Westchester that triangulates between Inglewood and Ladera Heights is fine. I own a house there. There is not any gang presence in that area. Its not exciting by any means.

In my opinion, if you are going to be around Culver City, move to Palms or somewhere around there. Its way more laid back than living anywhere near Hollywood. You might still be able to find a small studio in your price range. But Westchester in general is fine. Might be a bit noisy if you live on the edge of the airport.

Yep, I'm very familiar with these areas, and they're confusing because each part has a different name.

I'd say it's questionable if you go east of La Cienega, North of Centinela, mainly that area right off the 405...some of those apartments are nice/quiet, some aren't. The houses back by Pepper Court are very nice and quiet.
