Can anyone recommend a good, reasonably priced (200 or less) hotel in Santa Monica? Will be there In January for a few days. Thanks!!

Ambrose (normally $220/night on weekends) or Fairmont (actually, i think they're closer to $300/night).

I have friends/family stay both places frequently when in town.

looks like the 4-Star Loews is going for $203 thru hot wire in January, check out the betterbidding.com site for tips on getting specific hotels identified.

Depends on what you require. Budget hotels will be in your price range, but if you want 4-5 stars (which is just based on services) it will be more than that. Check out www.KAYAK.com for hotel prices (not a booking site, just a quick way to do a complete search).
