Airport -
5711 W Century Blvd, Los Angeles, CA, 90045

Were staying at the Hilton for a few next week and would like to know what is nearby that I could visit/see.
We have never been to Los Angeles.
I will be entertaining myself for a day or two until my husband returns with the car.
Its a business / Pleasure trip.

Any ideas what to see? Tourist attractions nearby?
Subway nearby ?
Day trip suggestions?
I like to walk exercise.
Good restaurants nearby for night time / Lunch etc. ?
Where not to go etc.

I didnt pick the hotel hubby did!!
I ordered a book of maps etc from AAA but would like to have an idea. All suggestions appreciated.

There really isn't much right around the hotel. Since you won't have a car, I would consider the Big Blue Bus (Santa Monica's bus service) Route 3 from the LAX area to Santa Monica. Big Blue Bus - Route 3 As PDF said, Santa Monica (pier etc) and Venice are good.

Since your husband ditched you, go to the east end of the Third Street Promenade (east of Broadway). That is where some high end stores are. Spend away

Go to Marina Del Rey (north of LAX) and Manhattan Beach Pier (south of LAX) if you can. Try and not go east too far (as in east of 405 freeway), as the neighborhoods can get questionable. West of your location is fine.

Almost sounds like a movie made in the San Fernando Valley.

I don't know of an easy way to get to Hollywood. Ask the hotel clerk if she has a suggestion

You can try this site LA Metro Home | Getting Started

Your hotel lobby will have sightseeing info including buses
