OMG these names are bringing back memories- from both Northern and Southern CA in the late 70s and through the 80s

I remember when Bonham died from Led Zeppelin and it was like an all night vigil of grief and remembrance on these stations- for days.

Back in the 80's, KNAC + BAM weekly = all metal all the time. "See you at Gazzari's on the Strip."

At laradio.com they have a "where are they now" section that's free to browse, unlike the rest of the site.

Radio in Los Angeles, like television, caters to the major demographic which might not be as interested in KNAC, KLOS or more recently, KTWV as much as KIIS FM or Power 106.

I was disgusted when I found out how few LA radio stations played a format that interested me when I moved to the area after being gone for several decades. Don't need one more reminder that I do not necessarily belong here, so I do not listen to the radio. If that is where the radio execs think they get their revenue from, let them continue to think that. I take my money and my listening preferences elsewhere.
