Does anyone know what "V.D.W.L." is? I've been seeing that tag around Venice Beach. It doesn't look like sureno graffiti because they tag a specific way. I also saw a tag that said "Locals Only" next to one of the tags (don't know if it's related or not). I'm guessing it's some sort of skater/surfer crew maybe? I know Venice 13 tags around the beach, but I don't think this is related to them at all because it's not a sureno style tag. Anyone know what it is?

It's a Venice localism crew.

Goes way back. Jay Adams was from VBWL.

lame! i've been hanging around venice for a few years now and never noticed any kind of "locals only" vibe, even at the breakwater. according to some friends of mine, back in the 80s they were a pretty a rough group. venice is filled with so many ex new yorkers now, i think any kind of localism moved away with the former residents.

It's your forum. You should investigate software changes that auto-lock topics more than X months old. (X = 12? X = 6? X = 18?)

So we can close this topic now, right?

(I won't mind if you blame it on me.)

I actually found this thread informative, and Veniceboy's contribution quite well thought out and insightful.

I suspect this may be more Surf orientated.
