Anyone who lives anywhere along the 101/134/210 freeway corridor between Thousand Oaks and Rancho Cucamonga expects 90-100+ degree weather during the summer as opposed to what LA residents expect; the official LA weather reporting station has been on the USC campus since 1999, so the difference in high and low temperatures between LA and Calabasas can vary by 20+ degrees between the two locales but so what?

The bottom line is that Calabasas is a very pricey family-oriented area with excellent schools and is very safe, with plenty of nightlife within 20-25 minutes.

Calabasas is certainly not isolated by any means whatsoever.

Also, since imports have dominated new car sales in California for over three decades, it's not a surprise that tons of folks in Calabasas own them and drive them, just as they do throughout a state in which nine of the ten best-selling vehicles in the state last year were imports, another long-running trend out here.

Here is my age old concept of Calabasas (which means little pumpkins if my crusty old Spanish is recalled correctly). I always thought of it as, "I am really back in LA," when heading east on the 101, when I would reach the Calabasas city limit.

If you are over 60 years old, go ahead, but if you are single you are going to be miserable there.
Its a family town and no action at all. Boring.
