The Times reported last year that Montiel's compensation package totaled nearly $450,000, including 10 weeks of vacation and a housing allowance

Don't you love it. Those guys always know how to write themselves something that guarantees they'll make out like bandits no matter what happens on the job.

He's probably getting a $200k+ pension too, since California courts have basically ruled that job misconduct and criminal convictions don't eliminate a government worker's pension benefits.
