What would LA be without palm trees? (live, beach)

When you think of LA, do palm trees come into your thoughts?

And which type if palm trees do you like? The thin and tall ones or the larger ones?

And do you have palm trees in your area?

Palm trees are synonymous with LA, it's as much a symbol of LA as the Hollywood sign or the Kardashians

1. When I think of palm trees, L.A. comes to mind.

2. Date Palms, Queen Palms, and Fan Palms.

To answer your opening question, L.A. without palms would be L.A. before the white man.

Funny, even though I lived by the beach the tree I associate the most with LA is the Jacaranda. I'll never forget seeing the purple trees going all the way down my street when I first moved to LA. They were so cool, so different--so L.A.

Palm trees make me think of Florida or Hawaii. I like them, but they don't really make me think of LA.

FWIW I like the royal palms. They're so much better than thos tall skinny ones that fall over easily and sometimes have rats nesting in them.

Yeah I like those ones as well, theyvare the main ones found throughout LA..

Palm trees are gorgeous when they're well-maintained & stripped. But they're dirty, ugly & drop fronds like mad when they're left to grow wild, which happens a lot in this cash-strapped city. Plus unkempt palm trees harbor rat nests & light-up like torches with wildfires.

Jacaranda's are nice, but they become qute messy when it rains and when the purple starts falling on the ground..
