I'll be visiting your city in a few days and would like to know what area I should stay in. I'm considering the Ritz Carlton in downtown LA, but am not sold on downtown as most people I know have suggested that I stay in West Hollywood. I'm 26, young college educated preppy professional and I want to be close or within walking distance to nightlife. I will have a car and can drive to see the sights during the day but I like to bar/club hop at night.

Also, do you suggest that I stay in Santa Monica for a night?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

If you're straight, the night life in WeHo might not be your cup of tea.

Hollywood. Loads of nightlife there, plus its close to Weho. You're also about a 15 minute subway ride to downtown LA, should you choose to visit.

I'd like to be close to straight dance clubs... Hollywood is the place?
