Stupid Priceline put me with non-refundable fee at Quality Suits Inn Hotel near the Convention Center. I was looking for a cheap hotel for $80 at Hollywood Area near Metro Red Line. I looked at google maps and its near Vermont/Holywood at 10 min walk. Is that area at least safe during the day or should I take a cab? I will never use priceline again.

Unless you're afraid of people who wear Brandy Melville, Pacsun, Free People, and have skinny jeans on, you should be good.

It's those socks they pull over their heads that get to me.

Of course, they stretch their secret deal maps outside true neighborhoods. You are very likely to get a hotel at edge of a zone you picked up that is hardly in an actual neighborhood where most of their secret/non-secret hotels are. If you go for 2 star hotel, you are more likely to pick better hotel yourself with better ratings and location at same price using independent research. Its not a consumer friendly website, its a honeypot tool used by ghetto hotels that loose regular customers from poor customer service.

There's still pedestrian traffic but I'd just be cautious especially if female.

It's not a bad area, you'll be ok! I wouldn't go south on the blue line, but north on the red you'll be fine.
