Hey guys so I'm planning on heading to Vegas next month on Friday January 20th around 6:20PM. I was wondering how bad the traffic is around that time on a Friday? Would I get there before 11PM? I'll be pretty much gambling and clubbing and I want to try and get into the club a little after 11. Thanks.

Friday at 6:20 it's pretty bad, but you should be able to make it by 11 (I think). As long as you make it past Cajon Pass by 8, the rest of the way should be busy but free-flowing.

Disaster. You have zero chance of getting to your hotel room and checked in by 11 unless you are starting from the high desert

Thanks for the advice so far guys. Just a little more info, I'll actually be leaving from Norwalk and I might be able to leave around 5:15-ish.

Just where in L.A. are you leaving from? It's an awfully big area and that obviously affects driving time, plus possible alternative routes (e.g., rather than going through the San Gabriel Valley on I-10 or I-210 or Hwy. 60 to I-15 and out to LV by that usual route, you could conceivably take Hwy. 14 north and then Hwy. 138 or Hwy. 58 over to I-15; more miles, but possibly less traffic, and better scenery). But I agree that leaving at 6:20 p.m. and arriving by 11 would be awfully tough. Flying, perhaps.

Pack a trunk like Raoul Duke and Dr. Gonzo, and you'll have too much fun on the trip to worry about piddly things like time.

The traffic will be horrible, you will never go more than 40 MPH and you will get here (Vegas) at 2AM maybe

If you're leaving from Norwalk avoid the 91. That will be the worst. Check the traffic as you go, but generally the route I go is the 605->210->15. I think you'll be hard pressed to make it by 11 unless you get lucky on traffic
