Can anybody remember when it last rained here? My guess is some time around the middle of last November.

SoCal is actually better off than NorCal right now. Some of the systems that came in when the Jet Stream was split provided rain to the Southland and missed or barely sprinkled the north. This is a bad La Nina - it's a dry one, with a mostly northerly flow. Almost no opportunity for moisture pick up.

I really hope the rain starts again soon, but the forecast doesn't look to promising. Despite all the complaining around here and the dramatics ("Stormwatch!") when it rains, we really need the water.

It will be "stormy" beginning Friday the 13th and continue to be "stormy" through Jan 18. Their will be thunderstorms from January 19-24.

I heard rain is heading our way this coming weekend. Then again, those weather people have the easiest jobs - no one (that I've heard of) fires them for being wrong, every single week.
