Do you know where they film the scenes for The Office that are supposed to be their front door and parking lot?

I think it's Van Nuys but I'd like to know for sure, and if possible even visit there, if it's open to the public. I was hoping for an exact location.

Dang. I grew up near there, on Wyandotte Street. Amanda Blake (Miss Kitty on "Gunsmoke") lived even closer, on Valerio.

I'm a huge Office Fan. (although seriously its past its peak. I don't really watch much TV, but when I find a show I like, I REALLY get into it). But the Office to me is starting to feel well . . . almost "classic."

The Big Bang theory is my new favorite show.

If you watch the Office DVD commentaries - they talk about that.

The episode of season 4 where (Money) where Michael gets into debt and tries to hop a freight thinking he can escape the creditors, its the railyard behind the office park.

There have been a few shows where "downtown: Van Nuys sits in for downtown Scranton.

Hanson Dam has been used to be "lake Scranton".

Dwights farm filming location was in area just beyond Simi Valley (where there still are a few farms).

Interesting how they always avoid outside filming locations where there are palm trees. The constant sunshine of the outdoor scenes make it already make it hard to fake Pennsylvania, but palm trees would really make it rediculous.

I went to the place a few weeks ago. It's not at the address mentioned. It's the next building over. It's near a round dead end thing.

The numbers and "Scranton Business Park" were not on the building. There was nothing of interest around there.

When I went there for the first time this past February, the signs were still up there. When I took some people there in mid-April they took down the signs. I don't know why. Too bad you missed it.
