I'm planning to move to CA in 3 months from PA and wanted to know what part of CA is the safetest and most affordable to move to? I've always wanted to move to CA and thought since I'm not working now is as good a time as any to start over somewhere fresh. I have no money but I'm sure I can find something once I get out there. I've already researched the job engines to see what Is available, just don't won't to pick an apt site unseen and get out there and find the place is horrible and I'm stuck with it for a year. Any help you guys can give is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

LA bound

Find something where you are, get some money, then think about moving.

I dont' believe most of these 1 post hits are real anyway but that's my best advice no matter what.

Rent in Rosemead and the surrounding areas (San Gabriel, Alhambra, Monterey park).. if you are willing to share a house getting your own room, you can easily find countless places for $600/mo and under.

Pretty sure most of these types of posts are real--just that the OPs are probably dreamers and never follow through with their "plans."

My post is very real, and I'm not a dreamer. I'm not moving there to become a "star" that's never been my dream. I have always wanted to live there and thought now was as good a time to go for it, since I lost my job 3yrs ago. Nothing holding me in PA and a change of sceanery would be great. Just wanted some ideas as to what areas in CA are safe and have affordable rent.

Thanks,

I saw a nice studio in Sherman Oaks for rent at around that price; very upscale areas where a lot of celebrities live. Hardly any crime etc. It was small though like 450 sq feet. NW Studio City Apartments | The Excelsior Apartments in Studio City, CA 91604

Are you ok with renting a room? You can find a room in a safe/nice area for $700, sometimes even cheaper if you look very hard in nice areas like West Hollywood, Sherman Oaks etc.

So...you DO have money. First month and security + whatever you need to hookup to and sit on and eat. The dog will be a tough sell though.

Why LA then? CA is a huge state and if all you want to say is that you live in CA there are cheaper options for you..
