Alright so I have a real dillema, my ex is going to Harbor College so I want to go there and try to get back together with him. I can't see him any other way because my parents don't approve of him. However, my dad said that Harbor College is not a safe college and the area around it is very bad.

Is that true? Please help me!

(1) just because you go to Harbor College, you don't have to live around there, do you? It sounds like you're living at home.
(2) it won't work, let him go

It is not a "very bad" area. But listen to your dad.

Look I don't need you to give me advice on my relationships I just need to know whether Harbor college is safe to go to. I won't be living in the area, I'll be commuting.

There are A LOT of petty thefts and car break-ins that happen at Harbor City College. Not to mention that there is heavy Hispanic and Asian gang activity in the area (and on the campus)

I'm commuting from the Fairfax district, near Fairfax High. So is it safe?

But do these gangs commit murders or do they pretty much leave you alone if you're not in gang and you leave them alone?
