Hey everyone. I'll be in LA with a friend for 6 nights in the beginning of June. We're both women in our mid 20's and lesbians. Actually going to be in LA during pride weekend. How is it? Chicago pride is pretty insane, usually have anywhere from 500,000-750,000 people attend. Does it compare to this? We'll be coming from Chicago which has a fairly decent "lesbian scene" and of course have heard that LA has a huuuuge lesbian scene. I've done a bit of research and found the typical recommendations for lesbian spots to go to while we're out there. Anyone have any?? I've saw online places like Factory Nightclub and Here Lounge? Are those good spots to start out with? Also, maybe this is a stupid question, but is the lesbian scene there are pretentious as they make it seem on the L Word/Real L Word? I know it's television, but there has to be at least some truth to it. Besides lesbian places, anywhere else anyone would recommend that mid 20-something year old women just have to go? Never been to California, let alone Los Angeles, so trying to get all the advice I can. Thanks!

Pride parade here is much tamer than Chicago's. A lot less people and no open containers makes it more of a parade and less of a street party. Still fun, but nothing like Chicago's.

Unfortunately, I'm guessing you won't get much insight into the lesbian scene from this forum.

I think the more prominent "pride" event type stuff happens in Long Beach rather than LA

West Hollywood is definitely a Gay haven, but 40% of the population are men of that persuasion. I would recommend Silverlake, Echo Park, Los Feliz, i.e. the northeast side. Not to stereotype, but the hipster atmosphere and abundance of vegan restaurants is definitely a draw for lesbians, from what I've observed/those I've met. Also as a 25 year year old, I can vouch for it being perfect for our age group. It's hard to get there via public trans. though due to the beautiful rolling hills (boo hoo ;/).
