There is a great divide here, of language, income, housing stock, safety and occupation. And throwing that mix together, with pleasant weather 90 percent of the time and access to an untold amount of activities, is stimulating to some and daunting to others (especially those with small children who come from suburban backgrounds). I easily could see much of the decent parts of the city becoming kid-free zones, and while that's different it might not necessarily be bad.

Actually Angelenos hate NYC but not vise versa and I say this because I cant tell you the amount of New Yorkers that have moved to Los Angeles. I mean, not all Angelenos dislike NY and what I mean by "dislike" is they like to visit but not actually consider live over there. Anyways, yes its true that many people are leaving California but thats because they cant afford to live here primarly and there are the few who dont like it. Everybody has their opinion but by the way Los Angeles is growing most people seem to love it.
