That's terrible! I actually only very recently learned about him, as I'm not from California. Its a shame I didn't learn of him earlier. They haven't said what he died of. He was only 67, which in this day in age is not that old.

I'm thinking aggressive cancer, due to the very short span of time between retiring from the public spotlight and death.

I just heard. We are both from Tennessee and he worked with the local NBC affiliate there when I was a teen - he covered a country music event I attended one time. I love at of his PBS shows (some are shown on Nashville, TN PBS). A real loss - we'll miss him.

Dude was not only a Treasure to those of us in Los Angeles, he was a friggin' National Treasure.

Loved "Traveling with Huell Howser" when I was a kid. Dude loved L.A. and California like I love LA and California.

He certainly did, rather than hang out at C-D complaining about them.

I truly enjoyed watching his shows and the off beat places he took us. His "retirement" seem abrupt and now I see why; really bad news.
Vaya con dios Huell, you will be missed.
