How did crooked Janice Hahn get on the Board of Supervisors, especially given that the L.A. Times exposed crooked Janice taking bribe money from a developer. Not only was the $200k she accepted in excess of what the law allows, it was taken as a quid pro quo from a developer looking to develop something not conforming to the zoning laws.

How did Janice Hahn, crooked criminal politician, win the L.A. County Board election?! Do most people in L.A. County not care that somebody running for office is a criminal?

This place really is a mess. You stupid, stupid, STUPID people out there who cast your votes with a minimal amount of knowledge about who or what for which you're voting have almost RUINED what used to be a really nice place in which to live.

That doesn't explain it since the contest in big city California is always liberal against liberal so it comes down to cult of personality and political celebrity status. Just like her big brother Jim made sure the mayoral ballots read James "Kenneth" Hahn to remind us of dad.

City councilman Hosea Halizar (name not spelled correct I imagine) ran into someone late at night drunk. The person won a big settlement from the city, thats you, and then declared "I take full responsibility"

I think you mean this scumbag..

L.A. City Council pays $185,000 settlement in Jose Huizar crash case - latimes

Same guy that recently called Trump a 'tyrant' on Twitter.
"We have tyrant"

"We have tyrant as the President-elect. If we acquiesce to his falsehoods, we fall victim to tyrannical government. We should not let up."

Los Angeles councilman calls Trump a 'tyrant' - LA Observed

Huizar , Garcetti and the others are the real tyrants.

Yes it's a shame. Many are ignorant about the corruption in the city.

I really want to know what China's richest man gave Garcett to call him an 'exceptional friend'
I'm guessing even more than $200,000.

Wanda Group Wang Jianlin | Mayor Eric Garcetti | Hollywood

A recent article about Wanda Group..now Wanda Group is facing scrutiny from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

"In a letter sent Wednesday, incoming Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said the takeovers of U.S. companies by China’s Dalian Wanda Group Co. and others warrant further scrutiny to determine whether they are being orchestrated by Chinese government interests—possibly leaving U.S. companies to compete on an uneven playing field. The move increases the likelihood of a re-examination of how the U.S. allows the nation to invest in American companies."

In China, bribing public officials is part of doing business. I wonder if we might just cut off foreign investment entirely or just up the scrutiny more.
