Do people in the area chuckle about this?

Both the Purple and Expo lines will go to the Sea or Downtown Santa Monica....it will be done in phases which is a good thing. Most Major Underground Rail Projects are done in phases of 2 or 4 to break in a system and curve costs... The Seattle System is being done in phases of 3.....there are rare one shot projects like the Proposed Amtrak/NJT/MNRR/LIRR Gateway Tunnel , Bridge , and station expansion or Proposed Northeast Corridor Philly HSR tunnel.... So once the Westwood Extension is completed and if Ridership is solid which there are no doubts it won't be , Next Stop will be the Sea...

"if Ridership is solid which there are no doubts it won't be"

I hate to speak for others. But, I think by using the double negative, Nexis4Jersey made a point opposite what he/she really meant.

My two cents.

From what I've read, West Hollywood wanted a rail line more than anyone else in the county. Hopefully, when that time comes, Metro doesn't choose to run the Crenshaw Line up La Brea (which would be the least expensive route) and misses a LOT of WeHo. It has to go up either Fairfax, La Cienega or San Vicente then turn eastward on Santa Monica for it to serve WeHo well.

What a horrible idea for a subway in that area along that route.

That was Metro's plan for a subway spur in West Hollywood before they shelved it.
