I've read mixed reviews. Are those lights still valid? Do I have to pay this ticket? There are a bunch of articles about how those lights became invalid in LA county last year, but I'm not sure if I was technically in Beverly Hills or not...? Should I just not worry about it unless I get a ticket in the mail?

I have no problem paying it, if I have to, because I did enter the intersection after it was red. But, I really don't want to pay it if I don't have it.

Advice?
Why worry about something before you get it? If you get the notification either pay it or contest it, simple, basic, to the point.

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this but there are several articles posted on the internet related to the red light camera program and how it is unlawful. Basically since there is no police officer present (human vs. machine) and instead a camera in place (even though the camera footage is reviewed by police they say) the case does not hold up in courts. Basically anybody who contested the red light ticket won so people stopped paying the red light tickets. I'm not going to be paying mine any time soon. The guy who spent a night in jail for a ticket is just trying to scare you. That's pretty far out. He/she probably had a warrant out or something like that.

Ignoring tickets is always the best policy.

My understanding is that BH will report to the DMV and you won't be able to renew your registration. Not sure if they'll issue a warrant but I guess it's possible. I'd pay the ticket.

Well, it's been about a year since I posted about my ticket and nothing ever came of it. They sent me the original ticket in the mail and that was the end of it.

You're lucky.
West Hollywood still has red light tickets--
I just paid one this month from a flash way back in November at La Brea/Santa M ($560, after the court and driving school fees). The tail of my car was in the red for 0.01 seconds. No kidding.
