Hello,

My name is Jylane and I am 20, and my boyfriend Elijah is 22, we are looking to move to the LA area. We both know absolutely nothing about the different neighborhoods and cities. We would like to stay in (and possibly below ) 1300$ a month. I love to cook, so a modern kitchen is a Major plus and it simply must be a one bedroom, no studio. I also have 2 cats, and finding a place has , to say the least, challenging with our needs, budget and essentially no knowledge of the area. I found an apartment at 435 S. Palos Verdes San Pedros. Is that a decent area? Id appreciate any and all input and advice. Thanks

Depends on where you need to go for work or school, San Pedro is kind of far from everything. Long Beach is pretty affordable too and at least you can hop on the blue line and go to LA.

If you are intent on moving to Pedro, as a general rule, I'd consider places south of 25th and west of Gaffey. But I'm not a realtor.

Truth. SP can provide beautiful views and its pretty quiet, but if you work in LA or the South Bay, you tack on another 25 minutes to to your commute.

VERY helpful. I will be working, and so will my boyfriend. He would like to work in LA, while I'd like to be outside of the city. But based on all the comments, Im thinking San Pedro is not the way to go.

Find jobs then find a place to live. The LA area is MASSIVE and you don't want to live 3 hours from your job.
