~31 miles per Google Maps, spending the most time on the 110N. If I can pull this off in about an hour average in normal daily traffic I would be fine with that. I will have to be at work by 9am every morning. I image the 110N wouldn't too bad in morning traffic (relative to say the 405)? Am I correct in that assumption? The roughest part will probably be going through downtown. Horrible idea?

Thanks!

WOW! That's going to be a nasty car commute. If you can carpool, you can use the 110 HOV lanes, and it will go a long way to making the commute a bit easier, but the end of 110 HOV to Glendale could be a a bear to deal with.

I'm not optimistic if this would help you, but here is a public transit option:
Blue Line to subway to Metrolink Trains bound for Glendale.

Metrolink has trains that are designed for those whose commute destination is Glendale and back in the afternoon. Metrolink (commuter rail to Glendale) monthly pass holders may use that pass for unlimited travel on all Metro rail lines and all local, limited, and Rapid Bus service provided by the MTA.

During the weekday rush hours, MTA rail service is frequent, you would just have to meet one of the Glendale bound Metrolink trains. Also, there is a transit shuttle service from the Glendale Metrolink station to the heart of the Glendale business district: downtown Glendale.

The MTA also has the Silver Line that proceeds on the 110 HOV lane, but that would proabably be a longer trip.

Please research at the following:

That commute's going to be very bad. Take a look at the LA Times traffic map at around 8 AM: the 110 will slow down before you even get to the 405, and from the 105 to downtown it will be a crawl. My wife's spent an hour and a half just on that stretch alone. Once you get to the 5 things pick up -- but that's basically the last ten minutes of your drive.
