somewhat on-topic:

i've always found it ironic that jackie robinson, the man who broke baseball's color barrier, was a pasadena native and 4 sport star at UCLA - yet he never got to play for the los angeles dodgers because he retired a year before the franchise moved from brooklyn to LA.

And he retired rather than play for the Giants.
