I agree with the above.. additionally, you'll be moving to L.A. and will have no commute. I wish I could make that bold text flash.

El Segundo also has the most beautiful high school I've ever seen-- they use it in movies all the time: http://www.you-are-here.com/building/el_segundo.jpg

Oh, and most of the neighborhood streets look like this: http://lasouthbayrealestate.com/wp-c...egundopage.jpg

Agree. And beautiful Library Park is across the street from the high school.

CMY & Beth56 you give some compelling reasons for El Segundo and will definitely be putting extra focus in that area. I have friends in El Segundo and they have promised to show some homes when I arrive in June. I am sure my son would love the high school.

What are your thoughts on Brea or Diamond Bar residence with a commute to El Segundo? Miles wise is not as bad as I have done in the past spending 3 hours a day on the road. I did spend a lot of time in Brea and really enjoyed it and loved the houses in Diamond Bar. How are the schools and the morning commute to El Segundo. I am just looking to get more for my money as I am being told that I will be here for at least four years. Thanks

If you're working during normal hours you'd be in for a long, grind of a commute. I'd guess 60 minutes in the morning and 75 minutes in the afternoon. That commute would get old really fast. I'd strongly advise Brea over Diamond Bar because it's closer to the 91 which is faster than taking the 60 to El Segundo.
