The days of 25 cents a hr to park are long gone. Its crazy how the city of L.A. burns people. Tony v is a horrible mayor in a city thats ran by the greedy unions & city council.

"one minute over on the 7 pm deadline on the third Saturday of the fifth month of an odd-numbered year as depicted on the parking sign three blocks away with four different signs (some of which are spray-painted over)."

That sounds about right for LA.

Parking Fine Increases, More Parking Enforcement Officers is Bad for Business!
Simple solution - get a ballot measure passed that will bring back $.25 per hour parking meters. "We The People" - it used to mean something.

I stopped parking on the street about a year ago when I received a ticket with 2 minutes left in the meter and a 2nd ticket for no front license plate.

Wherever I go, I usually find a private lot, pay $2-$10.00 and dont worry about it.

Parking fines are a big revenue for the city of L.A. (millions of dollars annually). The city expect to make more in the coming months. I believe tickets are $78.00. Dirty govt at its best. Also the DWP are corrupt as hell (just like the city & county of los angeles).

Another ballot measure should be able to take care of this too.

The so-called street cleaning has always seemed like a nicely planned legal scam to tax citizens.
Long Beach is super annoying with its weekly street cleaning which by the way doesn't even occur nor needed to occur weekly but you can bet your hard working behind you will be ticketed if you parked on the wrong side of the street on the cleaning day between 8am (give or take 10 minutes) and noon.
Honestly, I could never tell if the street cleaning even occurred or made a flippin' difference.

Orange County does its street cleaning twice a month which is a lot more palatable schedule and further more I have left my trucked parked twice during the street cleaning and not a single ticket!

They should be focusing on littering/loitering fines when it actually occurs instead of worrying about street cleaning and penalizing peaceful residents with fines or the obligation to move their vehicles during street cleaning when it is not even needed. Even though fining the littering/loitering scumbags is more logical, they won't do it because it is nowhere near as practical or profitable.

You know your mayor/governor/president blows when all they do is come up with more lame ways to tax their people to increase revenue instead of minimizing expenses and learning to manage their budget in a more logical and resident-friendly way.

Long Beach is the worst. I've been there for work and been had literally nowhere to park since the opposite sides of the streets had overlapping street sweeping times.

Depends on the city. Some definitely WILL ticket you.

Yes, I am sure they would but twice a month is do-able. Also, street parking is typically not very common in OC since apartments complexes are excluded from city street cleaning. Most apartments in Long Beach are individual buildings and if you do not have an assigned private parking area or if that is not enough then you are forced to use street parking.

I commute with a bike so every Monday and/or Tuesday, I have to get home and move my vehicle to the other side. I only got cited once and being a stubborn, whiny b@st@rd, I fought it off ....and won.

My buddy and I pretty much stopped visiting Glendale when they put 2hr meters along Brand Bl.
I know the place we hung out at was also upset about it deterring customers...
