Hi, we found a nice house in woodland hills we like but it's the traffic in the valley we are worried about. I work in Pasadena but my wife works in downtown LA. the traffic on 101 on both east and west bounds are heavy at all times and the street congestion in woodland hills is bad. Also, the summers are really hot there. We both like La crescenta, but the housing price is crazy expensive.

Thanks

That is not going to be a fun commute for either of you. Your wife can at least take the orange line to the redline subway. But if you're both planning on driving, the 101/405 interchange is what is going to make you move. People nowadays (with the high price of gas) are living much closer to work. It sounds like you're going to need to start looking east. There are plenty of great neighborhoods.

I used to live in the valley and commute downtown via a bus called Commuter Express. It was great as I could read or sleep the time away. Wouldn't have survived the drive OR taking a regular city bus.

Commuter Express does have service from the WH area.
