Shabazz, I agree except it seems in this case that the event in question is a "roast" which is meant to be non-PC, very in your face insulting but funny. I actually don't like these things because often the humor cuts too deep on a personal level but that's why I wouldn't be involved in one. If he volunteered to be part of a roast then he should have known that these things are no-holds barred.

It is not at all odd. In fact, in the California forum an African-American was recently discussing the immense amount of racism that he has had to endure from first and second generation U.S. residents from Asia. In fact, it would not surprise me if not one of the participants in these derogatory actions was White, despite what we would be expected to believe by contemporary culture.

That is important context. Like you said, it's over the top, but this being done in a roast in entirely different than if it were done in some other setting. Or maybe I've just watched too many Comedy Central Roasts. There is nothing off limits and nothing over the top in them. Brutal.

Exactly. There was NOTHING in the OP's first link to indicate this occurred at a Roast. The original link made it sound like there was a conference, and then they started with a random slide show with gorrillas and all that.

That's why I said "it seems like there's a big piece of the story missing".

That said, even in a Roast setting (especially if it's not a Comedy Central Roast of Pamela Anderson or something), there are some things that can cross the line, and this seems like it was one of them. At a minimum, the object of the roast most certainly didn't find it "funny".

Wow. All right.

Once again, a minority does something wrong, you never hear the end of it.

A white person does something wrong, and "it's only a joke get over it" and you never hear about it ever again.

Hence the reason for singling out the Blaze and Fox News for not carrying the story at the time. There is a large segment of the population that won’t listen to anything but a certain type of newscast.
