19 hours is a long flight. How was it? Meals can be very unpredictable nowadays. Thai Airways used to be number 1. Any recent experiences?

Do they still do that flight? I used to fly their nonstop 777 LAX-BKK, but I don't think they still fly that route, at least they didn't last time I looked (or it didnt fit into my schedule, i don't remember). I'm actually flying LAX-TPE on 7/3 which is a slightly shorter flight (~14.5 hours) on China Airlines 747 then on to BKK.

At any rate, Thai Airways has always been good to me, I've flown both 1st Class and their "Premium Economy", both which have been great. Its a awfully long time to be on an airplane, but it is what it is.

With times like that, even "wake me up when it's over" is out of the question.

Nasty. The worst I've done is LAX-JNB via LHR. 12-hr flight, 3-hr layover, 12-hr flight. I think I would have preferred 19-hr non-stop.

I hear it's as good as one can expect on this type of haul.

It's generally a pure great circle route (unless favorable jet stream on a deviation). That means minimal time door to door as compared with routes with stops (TPE, NRT, etc).
