I know many angelenos complain (myself included) but how many angelenos intend to leave and how many of you are staying until the sand is blowing over you.I am in the complain but will never leave catagory.I wonder which camp are you in? ( now I am still going to complain about things I think are wrong just like I suspect people do everywhere)

If you intend never to leave no matter how rough L.A. gets, we now know why you call yourself Kamikaze! I made a sub-category for myself here-- complain, but try to do something about it. I joined Neighborhood Watch and a few other local activists groups that meet with city officials, and hopefully have made a difference in slightly bettering the quality of life for my immediate neighborhood.

I intend to leave in 3 years the nanosecond my husband retires. Middle class life shouldn't have to be that of slum-dwelling as it is for us in L.A., plus all new problems grind you down less than the juggernaut of unstoppable ones here. That'll be the trade-off, of which there are always many. I don't want to die here any more than I wanted to die overweight (which prompted a successful diet, albeit with lifelong dieting now.)

Ideally, I'd like to stay, but my job is forcing me north. Not that I mind. I'm one of those Californians who like both LA and the Bay Area and have no grudges (except when it comes to baseball - there's no way in hell I could ever picture myself rooting for the Giants! Guess I'll just have to keep my mouth shut about the Dodgers when I move.....).

Regardless, I'll be back to visit.

Wasn't born here, like living here, may not die here. What can I say? I feel free to move around!

I was born here, have lived in L.A. County all my life, and would like to live elsewhere before I die! We'll see if that ever happens. I work with great people now, and it's difficult to think of giving that up for the unknown...

have been in So Cal all of of 42 years so far. I will see 43 years. But will be gone by next summer. Can'tt ake the traffic the rude people anymore. Off to a quiet far less crowded less expensive place. The the one nice thing about So Cal is I did manage to buy two houses so when we move we will have plenty of cash to buy a new house and not have a mortgage. We will keep one as a rental just in case the kids want to come back at some point. Cali is a great place if you're young and single, its hell on a family

What about us in-betweeners? My wife and I have no kids, I am fixed so kids will never be in the picture (if there ever is I'll have alot of questions!) So is it rough on married couples? La living. I'm worried that with such a big city and high cost and us not being "professionals" we will be working so much we'll never see each other, this is where we have looked into Fresno. We love California, the whole state.

I was born here and plan on dying here. Even if I hit the lotto I'd still live in the same general vicinity where I currently live and have property (Sherman Oaks, Encino, Studio City). Of course, I have some tropical vacation home somewhere as well, but I definately plan on staying put.

My one complaint about LA is I think the police should arrest and prosecute people who take shopping carts away from where they belong and leave in neighbohoods. There are no apartment buildings close to where I live but people still seem to leave stray shopping carts around. It drives me craaaaaazy. I think its stealing.
