LA is definitely a better place for a young person. its better to splurge and just spend more money now when you have nothing holding you back then trying to move out here once you have a family.

I live near a skate park. It's very small, but Wee Man (yes the real Wee Man from Jackass) goes to skate there all the time.

The art scene is unquestionably better in LA. The only other place in the western hemisphere that can match is NYC, but personally I like LA better.

Phoenix is pretty much HELL! It sure is hot enough. And there is NOTHING to do there. It's trying to copy Las Vegas, LA, and SD all at the same time. The person who said it is LV without the casinos is right. If LV didn't have casinos, do you think there would be all those people there? NO. They also planted palm trees! WTF?!?!?!?!?!?! PALM TREES DON'T GROW IN 110+ DEGREE WEATHER!!!! It's all redneck or Mexican. No public transportation, no Downtown, pure suburban sprawl, even worse than LA. PHX only has one tiny DT while LA has several.

SD is also boring, but at least there's better weather and there's beaches. In the SD forums, someone mentioned how they were extremely bored in SD because there is no nightlife for young people.

LA hands down wins

Move to Los Angeles. It's all about LA. Just look in the right areas.
Yep, San Dog is pretty boring. Once you've done Horton Plaza and Pacific Beach, there really isn't much more to do.
It's not a spontaneous city, the way L.A. is.

There's just so much more going on in L.A.

L.A. is easier to get around without a car, too. And the Expo line to Santa Monica will make things even better.
