I'm a few blocks from the epicenter, I had heavy vibration here and it lasted at least 20 seconds.

Wow! Here in the South Bay it only seemed to last a few seconds but I seemed to detect a bit of movement after the initial series of small jolts. I had a pillow wedged between my legs and I was in REM right before the quake so maybe it was longer here too. Heck knows.

3.8, but it was very close by. Did anything fall off shelves over there in the 'wood?
No, not that I can see. It wasn't much of a jolt over here, but windows did rattle and whenever we get a quake I immediately flashback to the '94 quake.

I wondered what the hell that was. It scared the crap out of me because I was about to get in the shower when I heard my wooden gate/fence rattle abruptly, I thought someone opened it and closed it. Never occurred to me it was an earthquake because it lasted 2 seconds. The one from a couple of days ago had the same effect out here.

I am in Toluca Lake - LA (just east of Studio City, south of North Hollywood, north of Universal City, along the 134-Ventura Frwy and 170-Hollywood frwy)

Nothing new to report thus far. I just watched an episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and now I'm ready for bed again.

Funny thing I was in El Segundo at the beach all day up until midnight, we were talking about earthquakes and which were the biggest ones we've been in.

This is the second shock we got today, the first, while swimming just beyond the surf line, 3 dophins swam right next to us arching their backs and dorsal fins high out of the water the way they do -- awesome sight to see up close and personal.

Woke up right at the end of the shake, so I wasn't sure if it was a quake or not so I went back to sleep.
