I live in South Florida and trust me, you do not want to move to Miami in this economy.
Even before the economy tanked, this is a VERY expensive place to live and IF you can find a job, you won't make enough to make ends meet here.. UNLESS you are independently wealthy.

I would suggest that you head to Indianapolis.
There's affordable housing and if you can get a job, you'll be able to make ends meet.
Best of luck!

there is ample parking and cheap housing. I looked it up and it's cheaper than Texas
Cheaper than Texas? That would be close to a free apt. LOL

lol I'm in El Paso right now and my buddies who live off post are complaining about paying $650 for a 2 bedroom apt in a decent neighborhood! I tell them that I couldn't find a CLOSET in LA for less than $800

i think LA is the best of the three, it has the best economy, it is the safest of the three, it has great nightlife tied with vegas and Miami, but LA is the most expensive.

I agree. LA is the best as far as jobs, relative safety and decent nightlife.

I wouldn't say LA is tied with Vegas or Miami though. Those two cities are mega party towns. LA is a great party town but no where near on the scale of Vegas or Miami. Sure in LA you can find parts of it that are always hopping but c'mon Vegas is Vegas and Miami is on another level as far the party scene than most of the nation.

The girl is also coming from Tel Aviv, which is a total party town, so Miami and Vegas might be more to her liking. But then again, life is not all a party and scaling back to LA is not that bad.

Hey, it exists. People in Georgia are paying $300 for two bedrooms. There's actually a tool on this very site where you can search the cost of living index, and I think they said TX was still 9X while Vegas was only 79!

I think it depends, though. Rural parts of TX cost slightly less than LV. But then again, it's the same for both sides. As for LA, good luck! 150 for KT, even the Riverside ones are all 110+.

Cities in TX would be a better fit as far as jobs and affordable housing.

I'm originally from WI. Beloit to be exact and I'd say LA prob offers the best jobs, definitely offers the best weather but might be the most expensive. I love it here though so...

That's what my dad said. Some states have better economies than others, especially TX over NV.
