Within the last 5 or so years, stopping in at these malls when visiting friends or to get something to eat in the food court showed anything but. In the Glendale Galleria, I was the only Anglo person I saw in half an hour, and I'm not even technically an Anglo. I only ask because I find the changing face of LA interesting.

I know that ethnic populations in LA have grown and natives from the 70s and before are living in exurbia. However, where are these blond Midwestern stock folks living now? Orange County? Out-of-state? Rural areas? The only place that I can honestly say, without really looking for them, that I've seen Maureen McCormick-alikes is in Chico CA while briefly in the area. Whether eating or getting coffee, I thought to myself "Man, the Brady Bunch moved here." However, I don't think rural NorCal is on Angelenos' radar screen.

Demographics are interesting. Many people erroneously think LA is full of blond surfers. LA has ALWAYS had a dark head of hair and today, even more so.
It's politically incorrect to address this, but the facts don't lie. The facts are there has been a tremendous influx of Hispanics and Asians in the past 30 years coupled with a mass exodus of the former population. My great grandparents on both sides arrived in L.A. in the 1930's. I left California last year for many reasons, not the least of which was the changing culture. Last year in Ontario, CA, the #1 Netflix movie was La Bamba. That makes me wonder if a quick and dirty was of assessing a area is by what is being viewed most frequently on Netflix.

I think some of the people mentioned in the original post were bimbos with bleached hair to who came to try luck in LA (porn industry?) but left going back home to Midwest around 2008 when the recession hit and "for rent "signs popped out everywhere. People were leaving in droves.

That's referring to the celebs aspect of it. I don't think there are a lot of non-famous porn stars. Most of those other whites came for various jobs and because California was portrayed really well. Besides that, the studios are here, so.

Yeah, but the remaining ones live in pricy or beach areas now. They've always been in HB. I was telling a friend that as well, "If you go to HB, it's 95% white. Ever been there?" Places like Century City, Brentwood, and Venice still have lots of whites. They said they had. It's more varied than before, my neighbor told me you used to be able to find the same demographics in SGV and SFV but now there's tons of Asians and Hispanics.
