7 years ago. On Montecito. I still lust for Howies market key lime pie and brownies. I know it's gone now. Sad.

The little downtown...so cute. The canyon...quirky.

I think Sierra Madre is the best kept secret in SoCal. My old hair dresser called it Mayberry on Prozac. I thought that was pretty funny...plus they did film the orig Invasion of the Body Snatchers there. For a reason, I think. People look kind of zoned out there. Maybe it's from living in a wierdly cool little hamlet. I loved it and have nothing but happy memories from living there. I particularly loved the school for the blind and how a group of 6 or so would hold hands and walk the neighborhoods. Everyone looked after them. Just like a small town should.

We run a law office in Sierra Madre and LOVE it! We would have bought our house there but it is sooo expensive. It is totally and completely unique from L.A. - a great little place you can feel good in. We have only been here for a couple of years, but I am betting it is just the same as you remember it.

Is it soooo expensive now? Yikes. I was hoping to buy a place in the canyon at the worst of the market, which looks to be around the corner. Are you on S.M. Blvd.? I miss that place. Have you (believe me I'm taking a lurch of logic here) looked at Paduccah, Ky?
