Yeah its an exaggeration. But then I read on and realized they live in Westwood - and that explains it all.

You wouldn't miss NYC's subway if you lived in Central Los Angeles!

Of course the OP wants to drive, so I think Burbank is a great choice. The traffic is significantly better in that area than it is on the Westside. It will be hot in Burbank though, as far as studios being more proximate on this side of the Hill, I'm not sure if that is really true anymore, it sounds like a great deal of the studios have relocated to the Valley (though there are certainly a huge amount that remain here in Hollywood, plus a bunch on the Westside).

Sorry, just my experiences. I get around NYC just fine. Westside traffic in LA is ridiculous and to me, unbearable.
Parts of Brooklyn same COL as West LA.
And weather is subjective, I have friends who hate CA because there are no seasons.
This community is all about opinions, if you don't like mine, that's perfectly fine w me, but no reason to go off. I'm not exaggerating, I'm presenting my experiences with both cities and I clearly state the 20 year old OPs is different than mine.

Yeah you might not be exaggerating about Westside traffic. It's pretty brutal - didn't mean to offend

LMAO. New Yorker in da house! To many of those, either you love and stay in NYC, or you "can't hack it" and are "soft".
