I'm 25 and still have yet to get my license. I have my permit but failed the first time at the driving test. I have 2 more chances but think I'm not going to bother with it. Every time I do go out practice driving my dad yells at me and I just mess up altogether and don't want to drive afterwards.

So how old were you when you got your license to drive? I have a few friends one whos almost 30 without her license.

I was almost 17. It took me a bit to save up for insurance so I didn't bother getting my license until I had that ready. I didn't take driving class in school, instead electing to get it over with quicker at a private school. It wasn't that expensive.

16, but that was a long time ago. My son didn't get his until he was 19 and his friend at 22. I paid for both of them to have a couple lessons with an actual driving instructor because I was far too high strung to keep doing it myself. LOL

I was 18, but that was because I lived in NYC until I was 17 (driving age was and still is (AFAIK) 18 in NYC). I didn't get it right away when I moved to L. A., b/c I was in college at USC. Finally got it the next summer, after I had turned 18 (since I was 18, I was able to skip part of the process, basically the written test (which I aced), then starting practicing (mom taught me at first, then I went to California Driving School to finish up, took the road test and passed)
