You won't be there, right? One more reason to visit.

Real-Real? Or real touristy, what's shown in the movies?

Real LA as in what LA is really like for the most part: Downtown, Koreatown, Little Tokyo, Silverlake, Echo, Los Feliz, East Hollwood, Hollywood, Miracle Mile, Fairfax, Melrose, Venice Beach.

Real LA as in what you see on TV: West Hollywood, Studio City, Brentwood, Westwood, Beverly Hills Rodeo Dr., Wilshire Corridor, Santa Monica.

It's all "real" LA. It's just different types of real. For instance, what people think of as "Hollywood" is more likely WeHo or Beverly Hills. Real Hollywood is pretty grimy and will surprise most visitors.

Got to see a lot of that look of surprise this weekend - tons of Midwesterners in town for the Rose Parade, crazy how many Badgers sweaters I saw walking around this weekend.

LOL. I know when I first arrived in Hollywood I was like, what the blunt! I learned to love it though but I can see that people's first reactions would be similar, as though thinking they paid all this money to fly out to LA and there's a homeless guy peeing on his favorite actors movie star on the Walk of Fame. LOL.

It's a wild trip! Sometimes I like to take my friends down there just to see the look on their face, like WTF is this?

I am sure it's a cakewalk compared to Harris County Jail. Feds were in there last year investigating for multiple abuses.

Damn, if it's worse than LA County, they might as well chain people to rocks in the middle of the Mohave Desert.
