The Eagle Rock Plaza has some decent restaurants like BBQ Express, and free parking.
Occidental College is there, where Obama studied for a short time.
The cliff with the thing that looks like an eagle.

I heard a story that Lindsay Wagner, who played The Bionic Woman, came from Eagle Rock and said it was a slum. Locals were bitter about it.

I would like to know about it too. If it's worth visiting? I've heard it's the new up and coming hipster neighborhood.

I think it is more family oriented, but I have some sort of hipster-ish friends that live there. I think Highland Park is the real big new "hot" neighborhood.

close to pasadena
easy access to downtown
location could be considered 'eastside', which apparently matters to the hipster crowd.

i think it's a lower priced alternative for families who can't afford silver lake and aren't willing to be 'pioneers' in still gentrifying neighborhoods such as highland park.

Eagle Rock has "The Oinkster" a burger joint. It's pretty good!

There's also the Eagle Rock Plaza/Mall, which is well, kind of depressing.

Other than that I don't think there's anything super special about it.

Eagle Rock Plaza has that grocery store in the center and it makes the whole place smell like fish.

Close to Pasadena, easy access to DTLA and right next to Occidental College? That seems like the perfect hood.

To the southeast. It's the next neighborhood over, I think York and Figueroa are the two main roads in the neighborhood.

Highland Park also has a Gold Line stop, another huge bonus.
