You guys must be nuts to buy these $50,000 houses for 1.4 million dollars in a ghetto area. I guess old PT was right, one is born every minute and LA county is full of them. Kidding aside, I heard the cost of homes in LA are coming down?

Quite the contrary with the slow US recovery. The last I saw on the local news last month was home prices in LA and OC counties up, again. Now, I don't know how Riverside county is doing these days as it was by far the hardest hit by the bubble burst as they had the most new home construction.

The sun shines just as brightly and it's still 80 degrees today in areas that don't have killer views.

You can still find $50,000 houses out one of the SoCal desert areas, I am sure. But then, you would live out in the desert.

If you want a decent house that's in an actual desirable location (LA/OC area--views or not), then you gotta fork over at least $300k.

Supply is low and prices are trending upward. If you think LA/OC area homes are not worth their prices, then now is not the time for you to buy.
