Any must see places in LA/Hollywood/Anaheim I should see? I'll be at WonderCon most of the day but my evenings are free for the most part. Any good non-chain bookstores I should check out? I'm only there for one weekend.

LA is 30-40 miles from Anaheim and traffic on the freeways here is bad. as for what to do near the Anaheim convention center, Disney pretty much has a monopoly on that area. Having said that, there are some decent (chain) dining options at downtown Disney and the Garden Walk (i think it's called). Your'e probably better off directing your Anaheim specific questions to the Orange County forum. I used to live there, but it's been years so I'm not of much help. However, if you're looking to escape Disney, downtown Fullerton is a straight shot up Harbor Blvd (approx. 5 miles) and is missing the touristy atmosphere (which is good).

I will be splitting my time between North Hollywood and Anaheim. Each for 2 days as I have a friend in NoHo that I haven't seen since she moved back to Cali. Its possible I will stay with her and she will take me to WonderCon.

Check out Amoeba Records. Two stops from Noho on the Red Line. Lots of restaurants in that area too.

If I'm going out to eat I prefer sushi or any Japanese foods. Also would love to check out some aquatic shops and see if I can find some fish that I cannot find in our LFS. I have no desire to go to Petco or PetSmart.
