Does anyone know this is in their long term plans? It would be nice if I could stay at Disneyland or Knott's Berry Farm until closing and still be able to take a train home.

Why isn't this a priority?

I wouldn't be surprised if that line to Anaheim someday got it. Especially with the Anaheim Streetcar on its way connecting Disneyland with the Anaheim train station, making transit from LA to Disneyland a much more viable option. Right now it is a mile from the Anaheim Metrolink station to Disneyland, I don't trust OC Transit enough to bridge that gap.

The streetcar to Disneyland really isn't necessary. You can walk it in less than 30 minutes. Of course, it would be nice, but I can live without it.

i find it hard to believe there will ever be enough demand to run late night metrolink trains. if it helps though, i used to work at disneyland and i know there is a bus that may help you (http://www.metro.net/riding_metro/bu...images/460.pdf)

That's the one criticism of MetroLink is that the last train to leave Union Station is around 8PM. So people can't really hang around in the city very late even if they wanted to.

As sad as it is, 30 minutes walking is a deal-breaker for a lot of people.

They run later trains in the summer for angels games but I think it's only in Orange County. But for Orange County there is also the option of Amtrak although they only serve about half the OC stations. And they don't run very late either. Maybe 10pm for the last train and then a replacement bus around 11pm.

Especially on the weekends, it seems like they stop running really early on weekends. It's great that it serves the 8-5 M-F commuter crowd but a lot of us don't work those hours. and I would love to be able to go into LA without having to drive in it. I know the metro trains run a little later but it won't do me any good if the last train out of Union Station on Saturday leaves so early. And thus, I am stuck in my vehicle.

So OP, I feel your pain.

Yeah I agree...I'd like to take metrolink from the Valley to parts of the OC but it doesn't look like they even have trains coming back at like 8pm.. it looks like they come back at like 3pm or something...so not late enough to spend the day somewhere..

I'd like to use the $10 weekend pass they have now..but can't really think of anywhere to go..

It would be nice to be able to get from Ventura, to Union Station, to the beaches in West L.A all by public transit. If that happened, I might move back to SoCal.
