Has anyone seen the tv ad where Police Chief Beck is trying to scare people into voting for Prop A ..higher sales tax. It shows a car accident victim being pulled out of a car ...basically implying that if you don't vote for this higher sales tax then you're basically screwed and might die.

Wasn't increasing the trash/sanitation fees supposed to go towards this?

When will these tax increases stop?

I'm a democrat..but this city and their policies is starting to turn me into a Republican...something I never wanted.

Why are states/cities with lower sales taxes , property values and no state income tax like Florida and Texas able to perform these basic duties..but here in L.A we can't anymore?

Where is the money going?..

The entire system is corrupt. Its all about keeping the ruling class comfortable at your expense. They'll say or do anything to get another hit of your cash, then come back for more.

Yeah I was shocked at how blatant the ad was ...I guess they are really desperate to keep the gravy train coming .. FOR THEM , while the average person suffers.

Makes you wonder "whats' next"...whats the next threat ?

It's going to corruption. Glad to hear someone is waking up. They also want to raise property taxes. It's time for a third party or rally the Libertarian party that is anti big government. But liberals are in firm control of this fine state and they don't care if they bankrupt people that actually produce for a living and save their money. They buy votes from the poor and the illegal population while feathering their own nests. Cali has the largest number of gov. bureaus that just suck up money(read: parasites) of any state. Businesses are leaving the state in droves and unemployment is over 20% when you look at the real unadulterated stats. Why would anyone want to move here? I'm a native and I'm looking to get out.
