Hey Everyone,

I am coming to LA on March 21 for a seminar at the LA Convention Center. I land at LAX around 9:30 am and need to somehow get my luggage and myself to the Staples Center Inn (946 South Bonnie Brae Street, Los Angeles, CA 90006) without renting a car.

I am totally new to LA and need some suggestions on how to get there in a reasonably safe, and timely manor. I would like to keep the price reasonable, ($30 or less one way?)

Is public transportation the only option?
If so, do people take public transportation carrying their luggage to this area, or is that a bad idea? (I realize how clueless I sound, but I literally have no idea about the area and if it is a bad neighborhood.)

Thank you.

Todd

you could take the flyaway bus from lax to union station and cab it from there, which would definitely be under $30 each way. the other option is to take the shuttle to the green line station and transfer to the blue line. however, you'll have a decent walk from the pico station to your hotel. the second option will be cheaper but more of a hassle.

See if you can get the airline pilot to parachute your luggage out over your hotel. Otherwise you are toast.

Supershuttle or any of the shared van services will take you from LAX to your destination.
