A few people have been referring to parts of the Fairfax Distract and Wilshire Center as "Mid-city" or "Mid-city West." Let's clear this up now: Mid-City adjacent to the 10 and very close to Culver City but adjacent to Cheviot Hills. I've seen this error of referring to "Mid-city" on a few other threads. Now, Mid-Town is north of Wilshire Center/Korea Town (formerly "Mid-Wilshire"), south of Los Feliz District, East of Windsor Square/Hancock Park, West of Siverlake and includes Vermont at 101 Hollywood Fwy and LACC and the Braille Institute, if it is still there and where that transvestite or transgender person was shot, several mile NORTH of Mid-City.

Mapping LA refers to Mid City West essentially being the Fairfax District and Beverly Center area.Mid City is along Pico and Venice between Crenshaw and LA Area.

Maybe, but to avoid confusion we should refer to the Fairfax District and Beverly Grove and Miracle Mile as their respective areas, not Mid-City West. Especially when it's so far north and west of Mid-City.

I think the idea is that those are sub-neighborhoods of a larger "district".

MCW Boundaries and Maps

I agree the name is misleading. Those sub-names are more commonly used for sure.

They should rename it Mid-City Northwest. Or just refer it to as the sub neighborhoods. Mid-City has little in common with Beverly Grove besides being fairly close to it for example

Yeah I agree, and I give you the benefit of the doubt considering you are a native ( disgruntled one at that!) while I am a (not so) humble relative newcomer to the city.

Hmm, that map shows the Pico neighborhood council as "P.I.C.O" is that an acronym? I can't even venture to guess what that could stand for.
