Any safe and moderately priced towns in eastern or southern LA you would recommend?

if you don't mind Asians the eastern parts of the SGV is fairly safe & affordable, like South San Jose Hills, Diamond Bar, Walnut. I like the South Bay, but there seems to be an upswing in property crimes in San Pedro like car break-in's around apartments, maybe because of the growing popularity of the area.

OP, please clarify what you mean. Drastic difference between south and east portions of City of Los Angeles and South and east portions of LA County.

Sorry john. Not sure how much I can clarify as I don't know the area...I'm in the beginning phase of researching places to live in California within 30 miles or so from fontana. My husband's job has a temporary contract out there for him but we do not want to live out there. It's too far from everything but the reverse commute to Fontana wouldn't be too bad. I also need to find s job and don't want to be so far east and limited to just the fontana area so I was looking at northern OC near Brea, or parts of LA county...any recommendations?

East of Pasadena is Arcadia, which is very nice. You also have Glendora and San Dimas, which are nice.

Riverside has some nice areas - it's in Riverside County but not far from Fontana (about 20 miles). In LA County, Upland and the surrounding area is nice.

I'd recommend staying closer to Fontana. There are some nice areas in the inland empire. If you insist on being in LA County then try Rancho Cucamonga, Monrovia, San Dimas, and La Verne.
