I hope this thread goes here, or does it go under California general? :\ anyways...

I'm hoping to get into CPP this fall but seeing as how they're so slow in rolling out admission letters I'll just assume I'm going to CSULB for now.

What are the best ways to travel from San gabriel (near rosemead & 10fwy) down to CSULB and what time? I very rarely go to long beach as I usually just go to redondo or santa monica so I'm not sure what time the 405-S/605-S/710-S has the most congestion. Any advice is appreciated!

Straight down the 605 with everybody else. Its not too bad between about 10am and 2pm.

How long does it usually take between those hours? Would leaving 1.5hrs early be too much of a buffer?

I agree about 605. During these hours, less than an hour should do it, but 1.5 hours as a buffer would be good.

I used to do a Rosemead to CSULB commute several years ago.

605 is a straight shot to the school. CSULB is just a 10-min surface street drive from the freeway exit (7th St... IIRC).

Going there tends to be pretty smooth and easy, for some reason.

But coming back north in the afternoon is a wall of brake lights. Plan to drive at least a hour from LB to the 60 freeway.
