It is worse than 10%, for sure. That number is only the number of people that are actively looking for work that don't have a job. It doesn't include the number of people that have given up looking, and it doesn't include people that have gone on disability because their unemployment has run out. It doesn't include people in prison. It doesn't include people that work part time who want to work full time.

One statistic you can get from the government is the "Labor Force Participation Rate". For example, in LA County only 74% of men between 20 and 64 go to work. 62% of women go to work.

LOL, exactly. THeres really no true respite from rush hour anymore, except maybe between 3 and 5 am!

I haven't lived there, but Orange County is nice. It seems a lot more livable and cleaner than L.A

Downtown Fullerton area is actually pretty cool and I probably wouldn't have ever checked it out if my friend didn't live there.

Lot's of restaurants/bars within walking distance.

I actually found it to be nicer and more walkable than areas of the L.A metro area.

They seem to take city planning seriously there. It is a different feel from the L.A area for sure.
